Railavator Excavator

The Railavator is a purpose-built high-rail excavator designed for maintenance-of-way work. Built around RCE’s patented hydraulic retractable high-rail system, it allows crews to transition on and off the track quickly while maintaining stability, control, and performance in rail conditions.

The Railavator supports a wide range of MOW applications, including rail handling, brush cutting, trenching, lifting, and site preparation. Built on proven John Deere platforms, it delivers reliable power, balanced hydraulics, and operator control suited for long work windows and demanding environments.

Available in multiple sizes and configurations, the Railavator lineup supports both standardized fleet use and specialized applications such as right-of-way clearing, bridge work, and ballast undercutting. All models are emissions compliant and designed with long-term serviceability in mind, supported through the John Deere dealer network and RCE’s own parts and service teams.

Integrated Safety Technology

All RCE Railavator models support optional integrated safety systems designed to improve jobsite awareness and reduce risk. Available technologies include height and slew limiting, collision avoidance, worker detection systems, and 360-degree camera options.

These systems are integrated into the machine to support safer operation in active rail environments and complex work zones.
